What Is an Embedded 3PL?

Published by Beth Gurdock on June 21, 2011

There's no denying that today's economy has changed the way we do business. As the relationships among manufacturers, retailers and third-party logistics providers continues to evolve, the concept of an embedded 3PL seems to be gaining ground.

I sat down recently with Mike Marlowe, KANE's Vice President of Customer Operations and Innovation, to talk about this concept and answer the following questions:

  • Is this idea of a dedicated resource new and different?
  • What are the benefits of having a 3PL integrated on a strategic level?

In this video, Mike provides an explanation based on his first-hand experience.
